Wrestling at NTMMA

North Texas MMA will now be offering Wrestling!

Ages for wrestling classes on Saturday only are 9 –18 years old.

We are beginning our full time Freestyle/Greco practices starting on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 12:00 – 1:30 pm. All wrestling classes will be held on Saturday’s at 12:00. Practices will go through Freestyle/Greco season and summer months. NTMMA will be offering this wrestling program on an annual basis.

NTMMA also offers multiple MMA disciplines that will be instructed, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and Muay Thai kick Boxing 7 days a week. Various expert instructors will be utilized to maximize instruction and skills. Privates, camps and clinics will be held as well.

Time: 6:30 & 7:00
Ages: 4 & UP
Price: $50.00 Punch Card.

Classes cover instruction in:

We are adding another teens class. It will be Monday-Friday from 5:15-6:00!! We will still have our regular teens class at 4:30-5:15. Hopefully this will help those of you with schedule conflicts!

US Combat Sports – Are you planning on incorporating and Karate style kicks into your students’ and fighters’ game?

Sayif Saud (Octagon MMA) – “Coming from a Shorin-Ryu (similar to GSP) karate background I already incorporate some karate style kicks in the training of my guys. I feel that the more versatile your arsenal is as a fighter, the better. I look at all styles and try to pick what I think can be effective for MMA. To be closed minded in this area would be ignorant, as it has been proven that some unorthodox techniques can be very effective in a fight.”

Tery Corkran (North Texas MMA) – “Yes, I have taught this many times in the past to all my students. I started my gym North Texas Mixed Martial Arts in 1998 and have been and always will teach that kick.”

LISD seeks students for first mixed martial arts class

Lewisville ISD students wishing to learn about self defense and other components of mixed martial arts will soon get their chance.

North Texas Mixed Martial Arts, located in Flower Mound, is preparing for the 2011 fall semester in which sixth- through 12th-grade students will be allowed to take mixed martial arts as an external physical education credit for the first time.
