NTMMA Reopens May 18

NTMMA Family,

We want to thank you for your support. We would not have been able to make it through this difficult time without your continued membership and words of encouragement, directly to us and on social media. Following Governor Abbott’s executive order, we will reopen on May 18 and look forward to seeing you!

As we prepare to reopen, there are new policies we need to share with you. These are temporary policies that will allow us to train while the State of Texas asks us to practice social distancing.

COVID-19 waiver – There is a new waiver in your Kicksite account related to the coronavirus. This new waiver must be signed before you will be allowed in the building. Check the “Agreements” tab of your account to sign.

Temperature screening – Using a digital thermometer, all students will undergo a temperature screening before class. Anyone with a temperature above 99 degrees Fahrenheit is asked stay home for 2 weeks.

Mask requirement – All students must wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose. If you do not have one, you can purchase one from the gym for $15. NTMMA masks are washable and reusable.

All students must wear a long-sleeve rashguard under their gi – If you do not have a NTMMA rashguard, you may purchase one from the gym. We understand from medical experts that the coronavirus cannot be transmitted through sweat, but we also want to limit the number of surfaces that anyone in the gym might touch. We have many new rashguards available if you need one.

No waiting in gym – To maintain social distancing, the gym will be open only for students attending class. Parents and guardians can wait in their vehicles while dropping off and picking up their student(s). If you have an office issue, please email. We will have a few chairs outside of the gym, but please do not crowd.

Come dressed out  – No changing in the bathrooms. Also, please have your child use the restroom before they arrive. We realize that children sometimes have emergencies, but we do not want students in the restroom during class.

16 person maximum – The State of Texas says we must operate at 25% capacity. Our Kids and Teens weekday classes will be from 4PM-4:45PM and 5PM-5:45PM for the time being. Once we have enough students back to have the third class again, we will add it. Kids and Teens will do solo drills and practice with grappling dummies.

Do not congregate at the door – Please allow one person in at a time.

Remember, the temporary Kids and Teens schedule for weekday classes is 4PM-4:45PM and 5PM-5:45PM. Parents, please have your child bring their striking gear no matter what day it is.

The gym will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each class. Instructors will wear gloves and masks. Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this time. We look forward to getting back to training normally.
